This is one of my favorite modern oil paintings. The painting is by artist Leonid Afremov and from what I can gather from his other work, his style is very recognizable. I love the colors and paint strokes and especially how the ambiance of the night seems to be captured. Afremov’s paintings are inspired by personal experiences and emotions. Ironic because Audrey Hepburn, who never had a mean thing to say about anybody or anything, disliked working with Peppard. Anyway, whoever did Hepburn’s hair gets 5 points to Gryffindor. A good, not great top bun, as the execution is definitely there (great flow, no bumps); however, the unique style makes Hepburn’s ears look like she’s an elf. If you’re going to achieve greatness, remember to eliminate making someone look like an elf when you do his or her hair.
